The Knockoffs were formed out of a desire to create a punk band similar to the approach taken by Tom Hutchison’s band, Capt’n 9’s and Knickerbocker Trio. We found a drummer with Tom Amberson and jumped right in, writing songs, recording, releasing a couple of 7” EPs, and playing a bunch of shows in Sacramento and the SF Bay Area. After about four years, I quit the band but they continued to grow into a more polished version, adding a couple members and releasing a couple full length CDs, as well as playing and touring extensively.
